水泥檢查井模具的砂輪主軸作一次橫向進(jìn)給，待工件表面上層金屬磨去后，砂輪再按預(yù)選磨削深度作一次垂直進(jìn)給，以后按上述過程逐層磨削，直至切除全部磨削余量。水泥檢查井模具橫向磨削法是常用的磨削方法，適于磨削長(zhǎng)而寬的平面，也適于相同小件按序排列，作集合磨削。
